We can transfer 1/4" open reel to reel tape, standard cassettes, micro and mini cassettes, DAT tapes, CDs and Mini Discs.
We record the tapes to a WAV file format and then transcode to MP3. Customers can have both formats on a USB or exported to a Playable CD.
Our standard video file is MP4. We find MP4 is the best format for video to digital files for domestic transfers as it is compatible with most computers, tablets and televisions. However we can transfer tapes to nearly all major codecs/formats on request, including MOV, WMV, FLV, AVI, DNxHD, Quicktime, ProRes, H.264, H.265.
Yes computers will play the audio files and the files can be transferred to any device. Many modern televisions will play audio files from a USB stick. Please refer to your televisions owners manual or search online for more information on what your television will accept and play.
If you’re tape is broken or has become brittle we can offer a splicing or baking service.
The maximum length of audio we can fit on a single playable CD is 74 minutes.
2.5hrs is the maximum we’d put onto a Blu-Ray disc. This again is too avoid too much compression which affects the quality.
Yes, we can transfer your audio to CD and WAV or MP3 at the same time.
Yes we have sophisticated audio software which can allow us to to remove unwanted background noise or equalise the audio to enhance a voice.
No, we will only transfer material that the client owns or has written permission to transfer. Examples of copyrighted material include but are not limited to; films, television programmes, box sets, concerts, sporting events such as Premiership football games and international rugby matches etc. If unsure, please email or call for confirmation.
Yes we always return the originals along with your new USB or CDs.
No, we offer no disposal service. All media must be collected or will be returned by post.
Drop us an email or call the office, we'll discuss your requirements and make you up an official quote with a unique reference number. If you'd like to drop your items off to us yourself we will arrange a suitable appointment and send you directions on how to find us.
Yes! Call or email the office, we'll talk through your order and email you the official quote and reference number, plus a handy address label. Print these off, include the official quote sheet in your package, wrap them securely and attach the address label to the outside. We’d recommend using a guaranteed tracked & signed service like Royal Mail Special Delivery. Once received, we'll email you to confirm your items safe delivery and proceed to process your order.
