Secure Transfer Data Back Up

You've had your precious cine film, video tapes, photos and audio transferred to a modern digital format, you've enjoyed walking down memory lane and revisited those happy days - but now what?

Whilst it's without doubt that digital files are the most modern and best format for your precious material, digital files are susceptible to the same dangers of loss as physical media.

Personal computers, USB sticks and hard drives can be lost, damaged or simply stop working.  If you only have one copy of your data, it could all be lost forever!

The 3-2-1 Back Up Strategy

A common approach to back up digital data is called the 3-2-1 Back Up Strategy; have 3 copies of your data, on 2 different storage types, and 1 copy in another location.

How can this work for me?

If you copied your transfer data from your supplied USB stick to your computer hard drive then well done, you're on the path to the 3-2-1!  You now have two copies on two different storage types.  But what about a third copy in another location?

If you've shared your transfer data with family or friends then great, that could act as your third copy.

Keep a copy with Transfermagic

Until now, a copy of your data is held on Transfermagic computers for two months following the return of your order.  After this time the data is deleted, to make space for the next batch of orders.  This comes to huge disappointment to customers who have been back in contact many months, even years later, when they realise the only copy of their transfers has been lost or accidently deleted.

Transfermagic has invested in a secure and private data back up system which will allow storage of your transfer data for the medium- and long-term.  For a small annual fee, your transfer data will be kept securely in the Transfermagic office.

A Fourth Back Up

As well as the copy held in the Transfermagic office, your transfer data will also be held privately and securely within a professional and highly regarded online cloud storage service.

Transfer Data Back Up - FAQ & Terms

Cost: the cost to secure your transfer data back up is £5 per year for up to 100Gb of data.  This is collected via a recuring Paypal subscription, so you enter your details once and for as long as the payment goes through, your transfer data will be kept on the Transfermagic server.  For larger data packets, please be in touch at info@transfermagic.co.uk

Access: your subscription allows you to access your data once per year.  To access the data and to receive another copy, please email info@transfermagic.co.uk  Additional access in any billing period costs £5.  Normal costs apply for USB sticks and/or WeTransfer delivery of files.

Reference: ideally you should sign up with the same email address as provided to Transfermagic when placing your original transfer order.  If your Paypal email address is different, please get in contact at info@transfermagic.co.uk

Other Data: this service is designed to back up the data created by Transfermagic whilst processing your transfer order.  If you would like to back up other data, please be in contact at info@transfermagic.co.uk
