We can transfer video tape formats including VHS, VHSC, SVHS, Betamax, MiniDV, MicroDV, HDV, DVCAM, Video8, Hi8, Digital8, Betacam SP/SX, DigiBeta, Umatic hi-band & lo-band. Just give us a call if your tape format is not listed and we will advise you. We can transfer videos to DVD, VHS to digital files or both at the same time.
Our standard video file is MP4. We find MP4 is the best format for video to digital files for domestic transfers as it is compatible with most computers, tablets and televisions. However we can transfer tapes to nearly all major codecs/formats on request, including MOV, WMV, FLV, AVI, DNxHD, Quicktime, ProRes, H.264, H.265.
Many modern televisions will play MP4 files from a USB stick. Refer to your television's owner manual or search online for more information on what your television will accept and play.
If you’re tape is broken or has gone mouldy we can offer a splicing and cleaning service.
We generally put a maximum of 2hrs on to a single DVD. This is to avoid too much compression which directly affects the quality of the video footage. It might therefore be necessary to spread your footage over 2 or 3 discs.
2.5hrs is the maximum we’d put onto a Blu-Ray disc. This again is too avoid too much compression which affects the quality.
Yes, we can transfer your video to DVD, video to digital files or both at the same time.
This various depending on length of the video tape or type of codec specified. Our standard MP4 conversion is around 2GB per hour of footage. We hold a stock of various sizes of USB and hard drives to cater for every size of job.
Yes, we can convert tapes from the United States and North America in NTSC formats or in SECAM format to PAL.
No, we will only transfer material that the client owns or has written permission to transfer. Examples of copyrighted material include but are not limited to; films, television programmes, box sets, concerts, sporting events such as Premiership football games and international rugby matches etc. If unsure, please email or call for confirmation.
Yes we always return the originals along with your new USB or DVDs.
No, we offer no disposal service. All media must be collected or will be returned by post.
For domestic transfers we charge £10 per hour per tape for the first hour and then the price increases by £5 per 30 mins. For both disc and video file conversions we charge an additional £5 per 2hr of transfer.

Yes! Call or email the office, we'll talk through your order and email you the official quote and reference number, plus a handy address label. Print these off, include the official quote sheet in your package, wrap them securely and attach the address label to the outside. We’d recommend using a guaranteed tracked & signed service like Royal Mail Special Delivery. Once received, we'll email you to confirm your items safe delivery and proceed to process your order.
